Mr. Fani-Kayode will be charged with receiving N26m from former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) will arraign former Minister of Aviation Femi Fani-Kayode on November 10 for his involvement in the $2.1 billion arms deal scandal.
Mr. Fani-Kayode will be charged with receiving N26m from former National Security Adviser Sambo Dasuki. According to a report by Premium Times, if Mr. Fani-Kayode is granted bail on November 10, the EFCC could re-arrest him on a separate charge for collecting another N22m from Mr. Dasuki.
EFCC spokesperson Wilson Uwujaren confirmed the November 10 arraignment date, however, he said the anti-graft agency does not plan on re-arresting the former aviation minister, saying that news of such was merely a rumor.
It would be recalled that Mr. Fani-Kayode was arrested by EFCC operatives on October 20 at the Federal High Court in Lagos.
He was granted bail shortly thereafter but said he would be re-arrested on what he described as “politically-motivated charges.”
