Ever since the whistle-blowing policy was introduced, more monies have been pulled out not just from bank accounts but from holes and houses.
The latest is $38 million found in an apartment in House 16, Osborne Road, Ikoyi, Lagos. It was reported that huge cash in Naira, dollars and pounds were found and bankers were employed with their machines to help with the counting. The whistle-blowers’ initiative by the EFCC has yielded result in recent weeks as a similar operation in Balogun market in Lagos led to the recovery of N250 million.
