Enugu State police has taken into custody a man named Mr Chinedu Okeke for enslaving and repeatedly torturing his son, Kelechi in the name of disciplining the boy.
Okeke, who claimed the boy was too stubborn and heady, flogged his son repeatedly with wires and heavy sticks. He also put the little boy through terrible manhandling, physical and emotional abuse.
Fourteen years old Kelechi was left alone with his father after his mother moved out of the house due to unresolved marital issues. Mr. Okeke before his arrest was cohabiting with another woman who is said to be a mother of four children she had when she was married to a pastor in the area. Okeke and his mistress together put kelechi through the worse form of human abuse which included tying him up and making him kneel on stones in a dark room.
Okeke is presently in police custody has claimed that the devil is responsible for the inhuman treated meted out to him his son and that he only set out to discipline the boy not to hurt him.
