Family dog that killed Gambian President's son is put down.

In the heat of the political war between democratically elected president, Adama Barrow and dictator Jammeh, Barrow's son died from head injuries he sustained when he was mauled by a dog. The boy named Habibu Barrow died in the hospital after being bitten by his aunt's dog.

Whilst Barrow took cover in neighbouring Senegal, his family joined an aunt at her home in a coastal resort near Banjul. During the stay, the boy was attacked by the family dog. It is quite strange because according to reports, the dog never attacked any one prior to the incident and had been certified rabies free.

The Barrow family, not comfortable with the incident, decided to put the dog down through a quick procedure. Many homes in the upmarket area of Fajara, where Habibu was staying along with his mother and other siblings, have security dogs to ward off intruders. Little Habibu was buried shortly after he died in the absence of his father.

Hmmmm....... indeed uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.
