Eric Arubayi came into spotlight in 2007 when he finished as third runner-up in the 2007 West African Idol Reality TV show that produced Timi Dakolo as winner.
Ever since then, Eric has dazzled all and sundry whenever he picked the microphone. He released his debut album in 2011 which he titled "Redefined".
Eric was a very active member of House on the Rock Church and a lead singer in the church choir. Eric loved charity and spared no opportunity to give back to the society as much as he could. Eric was born to Professor Eric and Diana in Delta State. He grew up in Abraka, Delta State where his father was the Vice Chancellor of Delta State University situated in Abraka along with his three siblings - Erica, Derrick and Daniel.
In 2013, Eric wedded model, make-up artiste, youtube beauty vlogger and content creator for Spice TV, Chinonso. The couple welcomed a son, Jayden Arubayi in January 2015.

Eric died on Saturday, February 11, 2017 after a brief illness at the Delta State University, Abraka. Celebrities have taken to their social media pages to wish him farewell. May his loving soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.
