Nigerian arrested in India for ingesting 90 wraps of cocaine

A Nigerian named Tony Okonkwo has pooed out 1.3 kg of fine quality Colombian cocaine stashed in 90 capsules in Delhi, India.

Tony arrived IGI airport from Lome on an Ethiopian airline plane on February 6. Tony told airport officials that he was in India for business of wigs and hair. The officials got suspicious when his visa was found to be a tourist visa. Tony denied having any banned substance on him.

He was taken to a hospital where an X-ray scan confirmed the presence of foreign substances in his system.  Tony confessed that he ingested the hard drugs in a hotel in Lagos and was put on a flight to New Delhi via Lome and Addis-Ababa. Tony was meant to deliver the substances to a distributor in India who was meant to contact him once he arrived India.
NCB believes the cartel is being run by a group based in Peru or Bolivia and is the same one that had employed a Brazilian woman earlier to carry the contraband in swallowed packs. The consignments were first taken to Sao Paolo, Brazil and then distributed throughout west African countries through carriers. The drug was brought to India via Ethiopia or Abu Dhabi.
