Nigeria joins the world to mark World Aids day.



The CEO of Lagos State AIDS Contral Agency (LSACA) has affirmed that about 72,000 young people are currently living with HIV in the state. 
The LSACA boss made the disclosure on Thursday while speaking in Lagos on the sideline on the of a Stakeholders’ Forum on Adolescents Living With HIV (ALHIV). He urged people to have regular blood tests and know their status early and get the HIV drugs which are free in all government hospitals.
He also advised parents, guardians and care givers to support the government to stamp HIV and stigmatisation out of Nigeria
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), recalls that the United Nations in 1988 declared Dec. 1 as the World AIDS Day.The theme for the 2016 global event is “Hands Up for HIV Prevention.”The Day is designed to honour AIDS victims and focus on issues surrounding HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome).
