The president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari clocked 74 today, December, 17. Buhari was born in 1942 and is a retired Major General in the Nigerian Army. He unsuccessfully ran for the seat of president in 2003, 2007 and 2011 but emerged as president in March 2015 unseating President Goodluck Jonathan in the March 2015 general elections.
An official birthday ceremony was held in his honour in the state house, Abuja
