Six students kidnapped from Igbonla College have been released.


On May 25, six students who were kidnapped from Igbonla College which led to brief shut down of the institution, (if you missed it, read here) have been released exactly two months later. It is reported that the students were released in Ondo State.

During their months in captivity, the parents of the victims went through difficult times as they put together the ransom that was demanded whilst making several media appearances to draw public and government attention to their plight.
According to Sahara Reporters, Governor Akeredolu of Ondo State played a very vital role in their release; the reason why the boys were freed in Ondo State. The released boys are named below:
Agbaosi John
Jonah Peter
Philips Pelumi 
Adebanjo George
Yusuf Faruq
Ramon Isiaka
The boys were released days after VP Osinbajo appealed to lagosians that the boys will be released in no time. Lagos State Governor, Ambode also appealed to Nigerians to give government time to gather enough intelligence in order to deal effectively with the kidnapping menace state.
