Parts of Lekki, Ajah, Epe and other parts of Lagos have recently been overtaken by flood. The Lagos government, through a statement signed by the commisioner of Environment, Mr. Samuel Adejare has advised those residing in the affected areas to either stay indoors or move out for their own safety.
The statement says thus:
“You are implored as much as possible to stay indoors unless it is essential to your safety and livelihood. However we strongly advise those who live in lowland and close to water bodies to move upland”.
Officers of the ministry have been deployed to affected areas to prevent any major mishap.
*Doesn't sound like great advise to me, coming from a government that should actually provide alternatives for affected people.
Na wa for Nigeria
