Cholera Outbreak in Lagos


The lagos state ministry of health. last week, confirmed the death of six persons as a result of cholera out break in some lagos communities while 45 persons are currently undergoing treatment. It was alleged that some of the affected persons contracted the disease by eating the popular roadside african salad called Abacha and drinking contaminated water from wells. 
Test carried out shows the presence of a cholera strain Salmonella Species and Escherichia coli present in infected individuals. The lagos state government has gone into action to bring the outbreak to a standstill whilst urging Lagosians to avoid consuming unhealthy food sold by the roadside.
