According to Sahara Reporters, former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro has not met his bail conditions of remitting the sum of N100 million from the N800 million he embezzled while in office. The former Minister confessed to squandering a huge sum of N800m from the N4.7 billion designated for the procurement of arms for the Nigerian military to fight insurgency.
As of Friday, Obanikoro had only remitted N24 million which is a far cry from the agreed sum of N100m. Obanikoro will most likely be charged alongside his two sons.
Obanikoro's sons Babajide and Gbolahan who are currently on the run ill be charged in absentia.
