The senate today, warned Nigerians of imminent air disasters, as air operators have been finding it difficult to service their aircrafts due to lack of foreign exchange. They warned that some flight providers may resort to cutting corners as they cannot access funds for aircraft maintenance thereby endangerig the lives of air travellers.
Inability of air operators to access funds is as a result of harsh monetary policies of the present-day government. This has also lead to some airlines packing their bags out of Nigeria leading to massive job loss, less competition and buiness monopoly. The few airlines left charge very outrageous fares for flights.
The lawmakers urged the federal government to intervene urgently and avert the impending disasters.
