Former Minister of State for Defence offers to return N785 million of stolen election fund

Senator Musiliu Obanikoro who is currently answering questions at an EFCC holding facility may soon be let out  as he has agreed to refund the sum of N785 million. Obanikoro allegedly collected the sum from the Office of National Security Adviser (ONSA) while in office. It is understood that his friends and family are currently running around to raise the sum for the refund.
According to Sahara reporters, Obanikoro is expected to pay the first instalment of N100,000,000 to secure his release. It is alleged that ONSA made a transfer of about N4.65billion to Obanikoro's company Sylva Mcnamara of which N3.8 billion was sent to Governor Fayose of Ekiti State and Senator Iyiola Omisore.
He also said he handed over $5.377 million (about N60 million then) cash to Fayose at Spotless Hotel, Ado-Ekiti in the presence of the former Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party in the state, Dr. Tope Aluko, and other party stalwarts. The balance sum N785 million was expended on anti-boko haram campaign.
