During the first year remembrance of former Governor of Bayelsa State, Diepreye Solomon Alamieyeseigha, his widow stated that her husband died due to the torment and humiliation he suffered in the hands of PDP and not rival party, APC.
She said the ijaw people whom 'Alamco' fought for betrayed him and sold him out. According to the grieving widow, Alamco saw the sufferings of his people and fought for resource control as a way of alleviating hardship of Bayelsans being an intelligent and dedicated leader. Series of betrayal and humiliation culminated to the death of the ex-governor in the UPTH after he suffered cardiac arrest. She claims PDP took over all they owned following her husband's death.
