N100 billion fraud case against Odili to be reopened

Peter Odili
Proffesor Itse Sagay, Chairman of the Presidential Advisory Committee against Corruption has expressed government's wish to revisit the 100 billion naira fraud case against Chief Peter Odili.
Odili who was Governor of Rivers State was said to have embezzled the state fund amounting to a 100 billion naira.
The then presiding Judge over Odili's case Justice Ibrahim Buba granted a perpetual injunction preventing the EFCC and other government anti-corruption agencies from prosecuting or arresting Odili, an injunction the government of the day is now looking to overturn.
Sagay stated that the injunction was illegal and highly unconstitutional and as such, the case will definitely be reopened.
SAN, Itse Sagay
